coming out of furlough

coming+out+of+furlough

We are really excited to welcome our staff back to the workplace after being furloughed. There will be some changes of course, and challenges along the way, as is the same with every business.

We consider ourselves mighty lucky to be here, given that some businesses have sadly had to permanently cease trading. Whilst this remains a difficult period, we are eager to welcome new opportunities. Our customer base covers a diverse range of industries; NHS, commercial, retail, leisure and manufacturing. This is probably one of our greatest strengths: in that we have not relied on just one industry or sector and this has contributed to our own survival during this crisis.

100% of staff return

Throughout this pandemic, our first priority has been keeping every single one of our staff safe. Regardless of where they were located or the job they performed, we wanted to minimise any risk until we could better evaluate the situation.

We made a decision to furlough 68 % of our staff in April and reduce services where we could. We retained enough staff to still be able to provide much needed emergency deep cleaning services, outdoors grounds maintenance, facilities management and other selected services to our customers. We hiked up the use of PPE and training on safe working practices to avoid contamination and protect both employees and customers.

In May, we made a concerted effort to reduce the number of furloughed staff down to just 10%, and in June that figure was down to a mere 7%. We are now working on having 100% of our staff back with us in July.

Boxer FM are looking forward to being back to working at full capacity once more. And if your business has been let down by a service provider, please get in touch to see if we can help. We are completely ready for new challenges, whether it be contract cleaning, facilities management, grounds maintenance, janitorial services or specialist cleans.

Thanks to you all

Many of our returning staff will have mixed feelings in this time of uncertainty, and no doubt our customers will too. Bringing staff back to work means normality, routine, hope, sense of achievement and purpose. While it is perfectly normal to feel anxious at this time we feel that pushing forward is the best course of action and we will be focusing on the positive aspects of what this all entails.

We would like to extend our utmost reassurance that safeguards are in place. We would also like to thank our staff for your ongoing commitment and all the hard work you do, and also our customers for their continued support.

We have weathered the storm, albeit with very different experiences, but we are all getting back to business now.

What will the future look like?

We, for one, are looking forward to getting back to banter with colleagues and clients alike. We’ve missed you! We will also be looking for those opportunities that might be just around the corner. We can’t control everything that is happening, but we can control how we approach the here and now.
