Mental Health - Employee Assistance - Our Approach

Anxiety, stress and depression are all words we often hear linked to the current pandemic situation. A large number of people typically have feelings of isolation, fears about job security, are experiencing relationship problems or suffering with a bereavement as a result of COVID 19.

If you think you might need help

Talking about our problems is almost always helpful. That is why  Boxer FM are part of the BUPA Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and our staff don’t even have to be a member of BUPA to take advantage of  some of the benefits.

What is EAP

Employee Assistance Programme is a hotline to a qualified counsellor that any member of staff can call; it is confidential and free of charge. The hotline provides support and practical advice on things that might be affecting your well-being and ultimately, performance at work.

Trained counsellors can provide help on a range of issues, both personal and work related. Talk about any problems that are bothering you which could be something like a dispute with a landlord, coping with divorce, substance abuse, communication at work and worries or concerns over COVID for example. You will receive sympathetic and impartial support which may be all that is needed to help you gain control of a situation. Assistance is available any time of day 24/7.

How can I access EAP

You can pick up a leaflet from Head Office (alternatively call the office on 01527 833 333 or email helen@boxerfm.co.uk) or speak to your line manager who will give you the number for the hotline.

Reaching out

It is important to remember many other people will be feeling the same way as you at the moment, so don’t be afraid to speak out.  Try to address things as soon as possible so that the problem doesn’t become increasingly bigger over time. It is good to know that help is at hand for those occasions when we need it.
